Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped optional

Instructions

  • In a food processor, combine the black beans, salsa, vegetable broth, lime juice,  chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Blend until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
  • Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed. Add more lime juice for brightness, more cayenne pepper, for heat, or a splash of water or vegetable broth if the dip is too thick.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro, pico de gallo, vegan sour cream, vegan cheese shreds, sliced green onions, or sliced jalapeno peppers, and serve with an assortment of raw veggies, baked or fried tortilla chips.
