Save a lot of time and money and learn how to roast red peppers in an air fryer. This time-saving recipe is the easiest way to roast bell peppers to sweet, smoky perfection.
Wash the peppers and pat them dry. Then, slice off the tops and remove the seeds and membranes. Cut the peppers into quarters or smaller strips for more even roasting.
You can lightly coat the peppers with olive or avocado oil and season with salt, pepper, or any other desired seasonings. You can omit the oil if you desire.
Place the peppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket; be sure not to overcrowd them.
Roast the peppers in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes or until they are charred and blistered with black spots, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
Once roasted to your liking, remove the peppers from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving or using them in your favorite recipes. If you prefer, you can remove the skin of the pepper. Check out the method below. *See Note 1

Allow the roasted peppers to cool slightly until they are comfortable to handle or use tongs.
Once cooled, place the peppers in a large bowl and cover them with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel. Let them steam for about 10-15 minutes. This steaming process will help loosen the skin, making it easier to peel off.
After steaming, carefully peel away the skin from the peppers using your fingers or a small knife. The skin should come off easily, revealing the tender flesh underneath.
If you encounter any stubborn bits of skin, you can use a paper towel to rub them off gently.
Once the skin has been removed, you can proceed to slice, chop, or use the roasted peppers as desired in your favorite ways.
