Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour - finely ground
  • 2 Tbsp tapioca starch or arrowroot powder
  • 2-3 Tbsp water
  • 1 Tbsp flax seeds, ground
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Optional - Flavor Options

  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder, onion powder, nutritional yeast, or chili powder OR
  • 1 tsp cayenne or smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Step 1: Make flax egg: Mix the ground flax seeds and water to make a flax egg and let rest for 5 minutes.

  • Step 2: Preheat and Make the Dough - If using an oven, preheat to 350℉, or if air-frying, preheat for 5 minutes at 330℉. In a medium bowl, combine almond flour, tapioca starch, baking powder, salt, and any optional seasonings. Stir in the flax egg. Mix until a dough forms — it should be soft but not sticky. Add a little extra water only if needed.

  • Step 3: Roll It Out - Place your dough between sheets of parchment paper and use a rolling pin (or a tortilla press) to flatten. For best results, aim for a 1/8-inch thickness.

  • Step 4: Cut Into Chips - With a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice the dough into triangles.

  • Step 5: Bake - Line a baking sheet with parchment and lay the chips in a single layer. Spray lightly with avocado or olive oil and bake at 350°F for 8–12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
