This vegan chocolate truffle recipe is an easy vegan dessert made with just 5 simple ingredients. They are decadent dairy-free truffles that will satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt.
Before I lost 125 pounds I would eat the traditional store-bought truffles. Now that I know how the dairy in them impacts my health I make my own.
Dairy can cause issues like lactose intolerance leading to symptoms like bloating and diarrhea. Some people may have allergies to proteins in milk, resulting in allergic reactions.
Additionally, dairy products can be high in saturated fats and cholesterol, potentially contributing to heart and obesity issues.
As a vegan, I am very concerned about commercial dairy farming practices involving hormones, antibiotics, and inhumane treatment.
So, I created this vegan chocolate truffles recipe and can barely describe how wonderful these homemade chocolate truffles are. They have an intense chocolate flavor and one of the best secret ingredients ever!

How to make these dairy free chocolate truffles
This is the best vegan chocolate truffle recipe because they are so simple to make and the hardest part is not eating all of them in one sitting.
Step 1 – Melt chocolate
Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments.
Step 2 – Blend avocado
Blend the ripe avocado in a food processor high-speed blender.
Step 3 – Pour chocolate into avocado mixture.
Pour the melted chocolate into mashed avocado and stir together. Make sure your avocado is almost smooth or you will have green chunks of avocado in your truffles. Add vanilla and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.
Step 4 – Chill, then scoop.
Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Scoop chilled and hardened truffle mixture with a melon baller, small cookie scoop, or spoon.
Step 5 – Roll into balls
Roll the chocolate balls between your hands until smooth. This will be messy, so I suggest using food-grade disposable gloves if you don’t want chocolate-covered hands.
Step 6 – Roll in cocoa
Finally, roll the chocolate balls in cocoa powder and serve.

Serving Suggestions
I suggest serving them chilled because they will begin to soften at room temperature.
You can roll these healthy chocolate truffles in coconut flakes, toasted coconut, crushed freeze-dried raspberries, crushed candy canes, or chopped nuts for a little variety.
If you enjoy coffee, you might try adding ½ tsp of instant coffee. If you like peppermint, you can swap the vanilla extract for peppermint extract.
