This Brownie Batter Hummus Vegan Fruit Dip recipe is the perfect accompaniment to your favorite fruits.  This isn’t your typical hummus, it’s loaded with peanut butter, maple syrup, and rich cocoa powder for the perfect chocolate creamy dip for fresh fruit, graham crackers, or even chocolate cookies.

I had never tried hummus until I had already lost 125 lbs. I was strictly a meat and potatoes girl and never an adventurous eater. However, my tastes became more daring once I started losing weight and eating healthier.  I never looked back and this vegan fruit dip recipe tastes like you’re licking the mixing bowl while the brownies are baking in the oven.

Are Chickpeas good for you?

Healthline states chickpeas contain a moderate amount of calories and several vitamins and minerals. They’re also a good source of fiber and protein. Chickpeas may even help keep your appetite under control. Find out more about the benefits of chickpeas HERE.

This dairy-free fruit dip has the added bonus of healthy fat from the addition of nut butter, so you will stay satisfied even longer.

What do you serve with Brownie Batter Hummus Vegan Fruit Dip?

Put away any thoughts you have of the savory-style chickpea dip, because this is sweet deliciousness. The only similarity is the use of chickpeas. Otherwise, it’s completely different and oh, so chocolatey.

This is the best vegan dip for strawberries, but it’s also great with nearly any type of fruit, like apples, pineapple, or bananas. My personal favorite is to dip pretzels into this vegan chocolate fruit dip for a little salty-sweet combination. You could also serve animal crackers, graham crackers, this creative brownie recipe (Waffles), or my Cinnamon Tortilla Chips.

  • Chickpeas – also known as Garbanzo Beans – rinse and drain them, but save the liquid for later.

  • Almond Milk – You can use any non-dairy milk.

How to make this healthy vegan fruit dip recipe

Making it is as easy as 1,2,3 –

  1. Add ingredients to a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Alternatively, you could add ingredients to a large bowl and use a  hand mixer or immersion blender.
  2. Scrape the sides as needed and add a few tablespoons of the chickpea liquid (aquafaba) for an even smoother consistency and creamy texture.
  3. Transfer your Brownie Batter Hummus into a serving bowl and pair it with your favorite fruits, chocolate cookies, graham crackers, or just fruit. The creamy, chocolatey goodness is ready to be devoured!

How do you store leftover dip

The best way to store leftover Brownie Batter hummus is in an airtight container. It can typically last in the refrigerator for about 4 to 7 days when stored properly.

It’s important to note that its shelf life can vary depending on the freshness of the ingredients used and the cleanliness of the utensils and containers used during preparation and serving. Always check for any signs of spoilage, such as off smells or changes in texture, before consuming leftover dip.
