Spicy Cashew Cheese Sauce
When I weighed nearly 300 lbs, I loved cheese. I mean all cheese. There wasn’t a cheese I didn’t like or at least I never found one.
It wasn’t until a personal training client said she wanted to go dairy free for a month and I told her I would do it with her. Misery loves company after all.
IT WAS TERRIBLE! I wanted cheese SO BADLY!
Then after two weeks it happened. The cravings were gone and so were my sinus issues and I didn’t even know I had sinus issues until I stopped eating cheese. Get ready – TMI – my pms issues cleared up. I used to wake up in the middle of the night needing to vomit from the pain and all of a sudden -gone!
I decided cheese wasn’t worth going back to and I haven’t looked back.
Are Cashews good for you?

Spicy Cashew Cheese Sauce
- 1 cup raw, unsalted cashews
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/8-1/2 tsp chipotle chili powder or 1/2 of a chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
- 1/8 tsp turmeric
- Place cashews in a medium bowl and cover completely with hot water. Soak the cashews for at least 1 hour. Drain off liquid.
- Place the cashews and the rest of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
