I used to love ranch dressing and the thicker the better! Who’s with me?

When I weighed nearly 300 lbs , I would use the popular brand of ranch dressing and think I was eating healthy because after all, I was eating it on a salad or dipping veggies.  Little did I know then that two tablespoons had 140 calories and 14 grams of fat!

As bad as that is, making your own salad dressing using the popular brand of dry ranch seasoning mix isn’t much better. The first two ingredients are salt and monosodium glutamate, aka MSG.  MSG can cause all sorts of reactions like headaches, facial pressure, numbness, drowsiness and tingling. If you’ve ever experienced a reaction to MSG you know you want to avoid it.

I decided to make my own dry ranch seasoning mix and make it as healthy as possible. Obviously, I eliminated the MSG, but I also eliminated the dairy and soy. I cut back on the sodium and if you want, you could completely eliminate the salt.

It’s so easy you won’t believe it and you know everything that is in it.  This dry ranch seasoning mix will stay fresh in your spice cabinet for several months.  Approximately 2 Tablespoons equals 1 store bought package and can be used in a multitude of ways.

Actually, I have become slightly obsessed with it and have been using this dry ranch seasoning mix in tons of different ways. Make sure you follow on PINTEREST or FACEBOOK and see what I come up with…dry ranch ice cream… no! JK!

This Homemade Dry Ranch Seasoning Mix serving size is 1 tablespoon and 31 calories.
