Mexican watermelon water, or agua fresca de Sandia, tastes incredibly refreshing and naturally sweet. It has the juicy essence of ripe watermelon (here’s how to pick a mini watermelon), complemented by tangy fresh lime juice. The light and crisp flavor is perfect for quenching your thirst on a hot day.
Before losing 125 pounds, I loved sweet drinks. I grew up drinking Southern sweet tea, and if you know anything about that, you know you have to have at least two scoops of sugar in a pitcher of tea.
Now that I have lost weight, I have ditched sugary drinks because I would rather eat my calories than drink them. So, I created this refreshing agua de Sandia with less sugar than typical aguas frescas, which can be made sugar-free if you prefer.
It’s perfect if you’re on a lower-calorie diet and want a refreshing taste of summer. Scroll down to see how to make watermelon water.
